Introduction
Sustainable biofuels production from the first, second, and third type of biomass can be the major aspect of bioeconomy. Various conversion technologies within a biorefinery platform producing multiple products and promoting bioeconomy can be an essential roadmap for a more sustainable biofuel sector. This Special Issue focuses on research related to all technological advancements with process intensification and multi-product approach that could improve the bioeconomy of biofuel sector in a biorefinery platform.

More specifically, the thematic areas of interest are:

1. Integration of various conversion processes in a biorefinery platform;
2. Process intensification;
3. Sustainable engineering & multi-product manufacturing;
4. Bioeconomy and circular economy;
5. Improving energy return on investment;
6. Biomass resources for biofuels.
Keywords

Biomass; biofuel; biorefinery; process intensification; sustainability
